CARIBLEX Harmonization of Labour Legislation

Welcome to CARIBLEX, the ILO's database of national labour legislation for the 13 ILO member States of the English- and Dutch-speaking Caribbean. This database is maintained by the ILO's Subregional Office for the Caribbean.

This database contains many of the full texts of national labour laws from Antigua and Barbuda, The Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, Saint Lucia, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname and Trinidad and Tobago.

In this first version of the database, emphasis has been placed on collecting national labour legislation that relates to the following four topics:

  • Termination of employment
  • Registration, status and recognition of trade unions and employers' organizations
  • Equality of opportunity and non-discrimination in employment
  • Occupational safety and health and the working environment

Where available, additional legislation on other topics has been included. It is expected that additional labour legislation from the above mentioned countries will be added to the database over time.

The technical development of this database was undertaken with funding provided by the Labour Program of the Government of Canada.

Note: The full texts of the national labour legislation appearing in CARIBLEX are provided for informational purposes only and are not intended to replace consultation with the authentic texts.
