In 1965 the ILO established its training arm - the International Training Centre in Turin, Italy, to assist countries in their social and economic development through training (Calendar of courses), International Training Centre of the ILO, Turin Standard Courses Catalog 2010 (pdf 2.3 MB). Working in close partnership with regional and national training institutions, the Centre contributes to disseminating the ILO’s principles and policies, and to strengthening the capacity of national institutions to implement programmes in support of decent work. It seeks to assemble, package and deliver information, knowledge, expertise, practice and experience – from the ILO and elsewhere – concerning fundamental principles and rights at work; employment and income opportunities for women and men; social protection for all, tripartism and social dialogue; and management of the development process. Several representatives of the governments, employers' and workers' organizations of the Caribbean have benefited from training provided by the International Training Centre, some of which were offered in the Caribbean directly to constituents.
