ILO FORUM OPENS TO DISCUSS DECENT WORK AND A FAIR GLOBALIZATION
LISBON (ILO News) – An International Labour Organization (ILO) Forum opened a three-day session here to provide a broad social platform for discussing the forging of a new movement for promoting decent work and a fair globalization. “What I see emerging is a very practical movement,” ILO Director-General Juan Somavia said at the meeting, adding that “people today are not looking for rhetoric, they are looking for results. ILO SEMINAR FOR JUDGES ON INTERNATIONAL LABOUR STANDARDS
PORT OF SPAIN (ILO News) - Judges from national courts, industrial courts and tribunals, will meet from 25-29 September 2007  to discuss ways of making full use of the resources of international labour law in their daily practice, contributing to better implementation of international labour standards at the national level. Participants are expected from eight Caribbean countries. (25 September 2007 )

I am very happy to be here in Trinidad and Tobago, our host country, and in the Caribbean, a region that I admire and love. PORT OF SPAIN (ILO News) - Juan Somavia, Director-General of the International Labour Organization (ILO), was in  Trinidad and Tobago for the XV Inter-American Conference of Ministers of Labor (IACML) of the Organization of American States which was held from 11-13 September 2007 at the Hilton Trinidad and Conference Centre, Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. This was the Director-General's first visit to the English-speaking Caribbean. (September 2007)
