In the context of the 69th Session of the UN General Assembly, this high-level event will bring together Heads of State and Government from developed and emerging economies with key actors of the real economy to discuss the role of Employment and Decent Work in the post-2015 development agenda. Promoting closer economic integration for full employment and decent work in the Caribbean
Port of Spain (ILO News) - On 1 September 2014, the International Labour Organization (ILO), hosted a side event to the United Nations Small Island Developing States (SIDS) Conference in Apia, Samoa from 1-4 September 2014 to discuss the future of economic integration in the Caribbean, its likely impact on the labour market, and how improved partnerships between government, private sector and the labour movement can contribute to better labour market outcomes for the region. UNTT Youth photography competition themed My Island, Our Caribbean
The United Nations System in Trinidad and Tobago (UNTT) has launched a photo competition to mark the International Year of Small Island Developing States (SIDS) 2014 and to coincide with the Third International Conference on SIDS, 1-4 September 2014, Apia, Samoa. Submissions must capture representations of contemporary life which depict living and working in Caribbean SIDS, linking them to Human Rights principles. Deadline for submissions: 1st December 2014.
