Online campaign: 1,000 minute social media rally for the Millennium Development Goals On Friday April 5, a global community of individuals, organizations and institutions are coming together to recognize successes to date and reinvigorate discussion and action on the MDGs still to be achieved. The MDGs are the most successful global anti-poverty push in history. Governments, international organizations and civil society groups around the world have helped to cut in half the world’s extreme poverty rate. More girls are in school. Fewer children are dying. The world continues to fight killer diseases, such as malaria, tuberculosis and AIDS. The 1,000 minute rally across social media is to feature photos and stories illustrating the impact of the MDGs so far. You can follow @ILO or via #MDGMomentum on Twitter , or view the Storify slideshow of collected photos and captions. (05 April 2013)
