1. Arrangements for Ms. Suu Kyi’s address:

Access to the plenary floor will be limited to ILO cameras only, but there are a limited number of spaces with audio distribution available for broadcast cameras on the 5th floor of the Assembly hall.

A multi-camera, live pool feed of the arrival, speech and press conference will be made available to broadcasters at a distribution point outside the Assembly hall. Radio broadcasters have access to an audio feed in the sixth floor press galleries of the Assembly hall. Broadcasters wishing to bring SNG equipment are advised to contact the ILO at the email below.

Space in the following Assembly Hall galleries will be reserved for accredited journalists:

Broadcast media: 5th floor gallery (Lausanne side)

Print media: 6th floor gallery (Lausanne side)

2. Accreditation

Correspondents need to be accredited with both the UN and the ILO to attend the press conference.

During the Plenary sessions the ILO/ILC press badge gives access to the press gallery only (and NOT to the Hall).

Those correspondents who already hold media accreditation from the UN should obtain an ILO/ILC press badge (on top of their usual UN badge) to get access to areas open to the media.

All other correspondents should complete an Accreditation Form, and return it by email ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ), fax (+4122/799-7397) or post (addressed to ILO, Department of Communication and Public Information, 4 route des Morillons, 1211 Geneva 22, Switzerland).

Journalists should collect their badges at the Accreditation Pavillion located at the entrance to the main building of the ILO, 4 route des Morillons (NOT at the Palais des Nations) on presentation of a valid identity card or passport (with photo), a valid professional press card and a letter of assignment from the Editor-in-Chief of the media concerned.

The ILO/ILC press badges also give access to the conference shuttle bus that runs between the ILO building (R3 South) and the Palais des Nations where the Conference takes place.

All correspondents wishing to cover the press conference - including those already accredited with the ILO – who do not have a UN press badge need to be accredited with the United Nations Information Service (UNIS) at the Palais des Nations in Geneva.

Please send a request to Mr. François Richer by fax (+4122/917-0073) or email ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ), along with:

  • a letter signed by their editor-in-chief indicating the reason for accreditation and the dates for which accreditation is required;

  • photocopies of media credentials (press card);

  • copy of their passport.

For more information on UN accreditation, journalists can call Mr. Richer at the numbers +4122/917-4359 or +4179/477-0865 or visit the UNIS webpage at www.unog.ch , under “News & media” then “Information for Journalists” – “Accreditation”.
