The ILO Decent Work Team and Office for the Caribbean regularly holds meetings at the regional and national levels to examine social and labour issues of interest to governments as well as employers' and workers' organizations. Training workshops are organized to strengthen the capacity of ministries of labour and the employers' and workers' organizations. Participation at ILO meetings is at the invitation of the ILO Decent Work Team and Office for the Caribbean and based on ILO Governing Body approval.

The secretariats of the Employers' and Workers' Groups of the ILO select the national employers' and workers' organizations to which invitations to ILO meetings are extended. Their decisions are submitted to the ILO Decent Work Team and Office for the Caribbean for follow-up.  Regional and academic institutions, UN Agencies, other development partners and civil society may be invited to send resource persons or to participate as observers.
